Using Hashtags

Greetings and Salutations!

To one and all, authors, writers, readers and anyone else who follows this blog. How does one know what type of link to add to any post on Twitter, maybe Facebook, or even Instagram or wherever else you are registered in the social media world? Hashtags can open up your post to many folks out there or it can kill your post as well. Some social media platforms even "look" at your posts and decides if it will be seen by many or just a few folks online somewhere.

Hashtags are also great to get more followers behind you and your writings or books authored, even writing posts for a blog or two. Here is a small list of hashtags that you could use that are popular and "seen" across social media platforms. May this guide you into all your future postings. Enjoy!

A Book Review - Author Lydia Francis

Overcoming Anxiety & Depression ... by Lydia Francis [pen name]

What can I say? I personally have gone through so-called seasons of depression and anxiety, especially when you run your own business like I do. This book is well written and filled with great insight and real facts related to anxiety and depression. The author wrote this book with a personal background of the topic. I enjoyed this book because it touched soft spots in my own personal life and allowed me to go back into my memory of those times.
The author did a great deal of research relating to anxiety and depression as one can see when reading through each chapter. I was once again reminded of the possibility of anxiety and depression recurring in my life somewhere in the future. The book truly made me think about it, and it highlighted areas which concerned me as well. I definitely give this book 5 stars, and if I could, it would be 10 stars.
A well-researched and well written book, touching many areas on the various methods on how to overcome what occurs to the biggest portion of the world’s population. I recommend this book to anyone suffering anxiety or depression, or maybe to someone you may know. A book worth every page which is written and penned. Well done!

Book Review... Origin by Bianca Pheasant

Origin – Mama’s Retribution [Book1]

What can I say, but a book well-written, filled with suspense, gory details and a life from the gutters to the mansions. This was the life of Kyndra Abbott, a street lady who, through what she did, meets a German gent, Ludwig Falke, who treats her like a lady. This is not a type of book I enjoy reading due to the details involved; describing each character and each scene, some to great detail.

As a reviewer I looked at the storyline, the “people” involved, like Tony the pimp, Dr. Blake, Kyndra’s doctor, and some of her “street” lady friends. Bianca went into quite some detail when writing this book – it draws you and keeps you glued, although some scenes I scanned through which are not my cup of tea, but I did glance at some; detailed to the tee. For those truly interested in great crime, mayhem and suspense, touched with romance and love, this book is for you.

If you are into some foul language, some witty street “life” and enjoy some suspense and crime, it’s all found here. I give Bianca a 5 star rating for this book. As I did mention, this is not the type of book I personally would enjoy on my shelf or keep at all, not my kind of read, but still a great book and very captivating. And when Kyndra discovers a “throw away” baby boy, named Gordon by her, he becomes her "son" as well, a new mother to a new born child dumped in the gutters of Chicago. This book is filled with drug, gangs, Chicago night life of crime and dirt; and it will draw you in and keep you glued to the pages. There is more of this story to come in another book, part 2, I understand. Therefore purchase this one before grabbing/awaiting the second follow up of Kyndra Abbott. To those who love this kind of book, you have just found it! Enjoy the ride through the pages.

Fiction Elements

Greetings all authors, writers and readers...

These elements are guidelines to assist you when writing your next novel. Having these in place will bring your book to life and will draw the readers into the pages.

1] The Plot - this is the structure of your book. This forms the storyline, and how everything starts and ends.

2] The Setting - where the story takes place, where the story goes. This also determines the time and place where specific actions occur.

3] The POV - this determines who narrates the story, the point of view being what drives it. How the story flows is determined through this method.

4] Characters - these are the "folks" in your story. The ones who solve the problems, those who are the problems, and those who appear to "fill" the story and make it interesting.

5] The Theme - this is the foundation, what happened and why. This is the purpose for which the story is told, the message of the story.

6] Genre - this determines what kind of story you are writing about, i.e. a crime/suspense thriller, a romance, or maybe a memoir style story.

And that's it folks, authors, readers, writers. Enjoy the journey ahead and get your ink on paper and get going. Have fun!
